| November 2009 - August marked an important date in the Antonino Auto Group history - the 40th anniversary of Girard Motors' service as a Nissan dealership. Originally founded in August 1957 as a service station and used car dealership, it was the acquisition of the Datsun (now Nissan) marquee that kick-started the creation of the Antonino Auto Group. From this humble beginning, the company now spans ten stores - Antonino Acura, BMW of New London, Charles Toyota/SCION, Girard Ford, Girard Nissan, Girard Toyota, MC Enterprises, Michael Kia/Mitsubishi, Nissan of Norwich, and Toyota/SCION of Colchester - and one auction - Ocean State Auto Auction. Earlier this month, Nissan representatives from the Northeast Region presented Leo Antonino with a plaque commemorating this event.
