Overview
The Nissan Rogue is a versatile five passenger crossover available with front- or all-wheel drive competing with other segment leaders like Pontiac Torrent, Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Kia Sportage, and Toyota RAV4. The revisions for 2010 include new 360 Degree Value Package, featuring 16-inch alloy wheels, RearView Monitor, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear spoiler and chrome grille available on Rogue S models and chrome door handles now standard on all models.
Powertrain And Performance
For 2010, the Rogue is available in two models, Rogue S and Rogue SL, each with a standard 170-horsepower (167-hp CAL emissions) 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, Nissan?s advanced Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Both S and SL models are available with an intuitive AWD system.
The FWD models deliver 22 mpg in city and 27 mpg on highways while the AWD models yield 21/26. The cargo volume is 28.9 cubic feet.
Build And Styling
The Rogue S model rolls on 16-inch steel wheels while SL models come with standard 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The interior includes a driver-oriented cockpit, 60/40 split fold-down rear seatbacks, AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers, auxiliary input jack, available leather-appointed seating surfaces, heated seats and 6-way power driver's seat. It features a number of features for convenient storage features including an oversized partitioned glove box, a large center console and an innovative rear cargo organizer.
The available technology features include Nissan Intelligent Key, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, XM Satellite Radio (XM subscription required, sold separately) and a powerful Bose-developed audio system with AUX input and MP3 playback.
A power sliding glass moonroof with one-touch open/close and tilt feature is also optional.
Safety Features
The 2010 Nissan Rogue comes with a lengthy list of standard safety features, including front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), 3-point ALR/ELR passenger seat belt system (ELR for driver), LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren), Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System and Vehicle Security System are also standard.
